Another ripple :) #2 and #3 for Stash Buster 2013

Here is another ripple I made with my stash. So I guess this is my #2 stash buster blanket. I wish I would of had more of the variegated I search every where and I couldn't find it, I don't even know the name of it, it measures 44 x 76.  #3 was made with a tote bag and a half of just scraps of yarn. It turned out kind of pretty considering it was just a simple HDC all the way thru, I started it in December and finished in January it measures 69 x 79. I am thinking it is  going in the camper,

#
#2 * 44 X 76

#1 * 54 x 55

# 3 * 69 X 79
All 3 of my stash buster projects so far.

It's finally sunny here, we are still waiting in Minnesota for spring to show up.
I think it is hiding for sure.
You all have a wonderful day.

Something new

Finished a few project since the first of the year I want to join the stash buster challenge however I forgot how to add the links.  I think my memory is impaired at times from my medicines. Lol.
Anyway here is one I have done from my stash. Maybe someone could be so kind and remind me how to do links etc. I would appreciate it.
I have done 3 blankets since January busy busy.
Here is #1 of my challenge  It measures 54x55

My goal this year is to make a new blanket for each one of our grandchildren. We have 4, 1 girl and 3 boys. Actually that will be changing in July as our youngest daughter is expecting another boy. Little miss Tatum was a bit disappointed that she wasn't getting a girl cousin. oh, well I do believe she will enjoy being a little mother hen with this little guy.

I will post again later today
Happy crocheting, and have a great day.

Were has the time gone?

Hello my friends, I can't believe that January is almost over. Now that I have got my blogging issue's figured out I'm hoping to stay more intouch.
I decided to join the Stash Buster 2013 group but I will show you that in my next post.
Today I will just give you a peek at my WIP since it's Wednesday. I almost am done with it. I begain working on it right after the new year, it is just so pretty I don't know what I am going to do with it.  Some lucky little girl in the family I suppose.

I just think it is just so pretty. The orange really isn't that bright, just my goofy camera. I hope the picture turns out better when its all done.
My great niece Amanda wanted a slouchy beanie. Let me tell you I have to admit it is the ugliest thing I feel I have ever made. She wanted purple and orange, what a combination. I have made tons of hats and this was my least favorite, just wasn't crazy about the pattern at all.

Oh well, she loved it and I guess that is all that matters.

Well I guess that is all for now, I will see you next time with my stash buster projects.
Happy Crocheting.

2 for Tuesday

I don't normal do a 2 for Tuesday but since I had a fun weekend I thought I would show you what I did.
Tatum's new headband, she was so excited. Got to love that smile. She still would like Grandma to make her a Hello Kitty Hat. So that is on my list to do. This little headband created a lot of work for me. I got 15 orders for headband. Excited because it will give extra Christmas money.  :)

Levi sporting his new Newsboy hat.  He wanted a football on it  that was a little tough but I  figured it out. The poor  little guy came down with the tummy flu but still manage to model his hat.

I best be getting my hook and get busy lots to do besides the headbands I have to make another little zebra hat, and 3 fancy lace scarves made with the RH Sashay.

What to do????

Ok, so I am just about done with my scrap blanket. I have been able to make it big enough to put on our king size bed for extra warmth this winter.
Now I don't know what to do. I want to make a blanket and have plenty of colors in my stash so I need not to by any yarn, I just don't know what pattern to do. There is just so many beautiful patterns out there, darn Raverly and Pintrest. Any suggestions?
I have never done any that you have to sew together, but would like to try. Just don't know if I have the patience to do all that piddly work.
Maybe I will have to wait till my little granddaughter comes and let her pick a pattern, I don't know.

Slippers and Cinderella

Kinda of a grey day here in southern Minnesota. At least the wind isn't blowing for a change and I guess I should be happy that it hasn't snow.
As I said in my last post I have been making things to take down to your local craft shop to sell.
Slippers are a good item for me along with the Nook covers and little girl satchels.
Here is just a few of the things I have taken down there.
The Nook  Covers have done really well for me.

 Little Girl Satchel's

Slipper's just a easy one piece pattern.  I can't even begin
to tell how many I have made. This is just a few.
One of these days I will figure how to get picture on here where they aren't so scattered. lol
I get it figured out one time and the next time is a disaster. Kinda of like adding thing one the back ground Links etc give me such a hard time.
Well I better get back to my crocheting I have a order for fancy scarfs made with the Sashy by RH. My daughter goes to Avalon School of cosmetology and the girls love the ruffle scarfs, kind of a headache for me but a little extra cash for Christmas.
One more thing. Speaking of my daughter Kaylee she is our youngest, she is 26 and recently took part in a fashion show at a local mall on Saturday.  Here is our little dark haired Cinderella.

And she got engaged just last Tuesday.

Mykenna's Hat

I cannot believe it's been over a month since I last posted, there has been alot going on that's for sure.
There is a cute little shop in our town called Enspired the young gal that opened it had a great idea.
She takes things from local artist and adds a percentage for herself. So I have been busy making things to put in her shop.
My niece asked me if I could make a zebra hat for her little one, the little peanut born early sure has grown. Here that little doll is.

I actually pretty much winged it.  I used the pattern I used last yr for the regular earflap hats, then just looked at other pictures of hats and went from there. Turned out pretty good. Except I made the mistake of not writing it down so I don't know if I could ever do another one like it, maybe similar.

I will get my other stuff posted  shortly its on my camera and I seem to have misplaced it. Humm.
You all have a wonderful day.

Need a little favor

Hi, everyone I don't normally ask for anything for myself. However this week has been a real roller coaster ride. Friday morning I have to go in for breast biopsies 2 to be exact and I am getting very nervous as the time gets nearer. If I could ask for some extra prayers from you would be wonderful.
Thanks my friends.

I had made myself a cover for my Nook and now I have people wanting them, How awesome. I got 4 I need to get done pretty quick here is what I have done so far.

This teal one is the one I made for myself.

The purple was made for
a friend of mine.

The yellow one is a Iphone cover.

Then there is a close up of
Tatum's satchel.

I just thought I should stop out at the store everything
is 80% off. That was  probably a
no, no.
LOL
I ended up with a few more skeins of yarn.
Well heck they were 27 cents. They are small 3 oz. skeins
but that is just to good of a deal. I only got 16, I suppose
I could of cleaned off the shelf but I was nice there was a
couple other ladies looking.

You all have a great weekend, until next time Happy Crocheting............

WIP and a few other things

Wow, were has the time gone? It's been almost 3 months since my last post oops. That's summer for you so much going on. I have been working on a baby blanket the 2nd one in a week and a half. Here is a photo I am just finishing up with some edging I really like how it has turned out and its so nice and soft.

Our local Pamida store is closing and becoming Shopko Hometown, guess it's suppose to be a little different then a regular Shopko. I hope they carry yarn or I will have to leave town just to get a skein of yarn. However, I doubt I should need to get any for awhile. I got a super deal with the store closing I was able to by yarn at 70% off what a deal. I bought 34 skeins off yarn Red Heart super saver, red heart shimmer and red heart soft baby step and get this I only paid $47.48 that a average of $1.42 per skein. Here's my recent stash.

As you can see I have  put some off it to use already.  :) One of these days I will take a picture of my entire yarn stash it's almost to crazy.

I finally got to give Tatum her satchel, she loves to model... My little sunshine. She always brings it when she comes to see me.

I have done a few other projects also in the last couple months  but I think I will leave them to my next post and hopefully it won't be so long.

You all have a great day, until next time happy crocheting.

A little bag and new hooks.

I have been doing a little experimenting and I  decided to try and make a little bag for my niece's birthday this wkend and this is what I came up with. I am pleased the way it turned out, I think she will like it. I am going to put a few little goodies inside. I wish my camera would make the colors more true, so frustrating. The colors are RH shocking pink and petal pink. I was going to crochet a flower also but I found the big star button and beads in my stash of goodies.

I came across a Etsy shop that had just the perfect Birthday present for myself. Yep today I turned 50. Yikes, anyway I decided to get me a special birthday treat.. :)

I love it. Happy Birthday to me.... The Crochet hooks I just love, I didn't think I would be talented enough to make my own so I searched the Etsy's  shops. I think the Hook Rack is so neat it's made out of cedar. Kinda of reminds me of my dad's pipe rack he had many  years ago.
The Etsy shop is  The Crafty Lady Quilt Lady  if your interested take a peak.
Well I think the sun is finally going to try and shine and I so want to try and get the rest of my garden planted and my flowers, something that has kinda of become a ritual on my bday, usually by then we are past the frost stage. Gotta love Minnesota.
Happy Crocheting.

Amineko

I finally managed to get my cat done, I have wanted to make one for some time now and I am not sure animals are my cup of tea. I wanted to make one for each of my grandchildren not to sure that will get done. I suppose the first one is never perfect or maybe I should say it's a learning experience. Haven't decided what to call him but here he is.

Update on my little great niece Mykenna, she is growing like a weed up to 9 lbs now at 2 months old, way to go little girl. Here she is on her blanket.

Until next time, Happy Crocheting.

Jackpot

A few weeks ago my daughter and I spent sometime checking out a few 2nd hand shops in a near by town and I came away as one happy camper ( a expression my hubby uses ). First of all I came across a small mountain of  the cream and sugar yarn. Look I got 13 balls for a bargain of $4.00 that is 13 cents a piece.  :) :) All brand new full skeins.. :)

My second find made me so happy. When we were stationed overseas, I started to collect nesting dolls, some people call them stacking dolls. I have ones from Poland and Russia, some I am not sure probably China doesn't matter to me I just love them. I found a very pretty set in my favorite color for only $1.00 I couldn't be more lucky. Here she is.

Here is a couple pictures of the rest of my collection, I took them all out of the cabinet and tried to get them in groups pictures aren't the best but you will get a general idea.

I wish my camera took better pictures, the lighting doesn't always turn out the best. Hum, maybe that will be my next investment.
Our March in Minnesota has been so nice that I haven't made much progress on my wool-eater blanket, just been outside to much.
Well hope you all have a wonderful weekend if I am not back before then with another post. I did have one more fine on my hunt for goodies but I am going to save that for another time.. Till next time Happy Crocheting.

WIP Wenseday

Earlier this week I came along this new pattern. The wool-eater, so I decided to join the Wool-eater 2012 CAL
http://sarahlondon.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/wool-eater-cal-2012/. I  wanted to do the oblong one originally but for some reason it wasn't working for me so I switched to the square, and it's coming along just fine. It's never to late to join.  Have a wonderful day.
